Ukraine announced the list of victims of Iran plane crash 82, Canada 63
Overseas. January 8. Russian satellite news agency quoted sources from theMinistry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine as saying that a Boeing 737 of UkraineInternational Airlines crashed in Iran, killing 176 people. The victimsincluded 82 Iranians, 63 Canadians, 11 Ukrainians, 10 Swedes, 4 Afghans, 3Germans and 3 British.
The Ukrainian embassy in Iran stated earlier in a statement that the crash of aUkrainian passenger plane in Iran was due to an engine failure, not a terroristattack.
On the same day, Ukrainian President Zelansky extended his sincere condolencesto the relatives of all passengers and crew members.
Ukraine International Airlines also announced that from now on, the airline hasdecided to cancel all flights to Tehran until further notice. UkraineAirlines said it did not believe the cause of the crash was the crew.
The Iranian rescue service reportedly found the black box of the Boeing 737 andhanded it to law enforcement agencies for further investigation.
